In light of the catastrophic health conditions in the Gaza Strip, resulting from the severe shortage of medicines, medical supplies, and fuel, and the continued closure of crossings for more than two months, Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis Governorate has announced that it is forced to reduce a number of its medical services.
The hospital explained that this decision comes as a result of the significant decline in available quantities of medicines and fuel, and to ensure the continued provision of minimum healthcare for emergency cases.
The austerity measures announced by the hospital include:
🔴 Reducing the number of daily surgical operations by 60%.
🔴 Restricting the ambulance department to providing services only for extremely urgent cases.
🔴 Reducing laboratory department working hours from 24 hours to 12 hours daily.
🔴 Reducing radiology department working hours to 12 hours daily instead of 24 hours.
🔴 Reducing certain procedures in emergency departments, according to case priorities.
At the conclusion of its statement, the hospital called on all concerned parties and international organizations to fulfill their moral and humanitarian responsibilities, and to take urgent action to secure the entry of fuel, medicines, and food aid into the Gaza Strip, to avoid the complete collapse of the healthcare system.
