The Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital strongly condemns the kidnapping of Dr. Marwan Al-Hamas, Director General of Field Hospitals and spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, while he was performing his humanitarian duty during a field visit to the Red Cross Hospital in the Mawasi area of Rafah.

We hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for Dr. Al-Hams’s safety, and we condemn this crime, which constitutes a flagrant violation of all humanitarian norms and international laws, and a deliberate targeting of medical personnel working under catastrophic conditions inside the Gaza Strip.

We call on international human rights and humanitarian organizations, especially the International Committee of the Red Cross, to take urgent action and pressure for the immediate release of Dr. Al-Hams and to halt the ongoing violations against medical personnel in Gaza. We also call on doctors’ unions and health groups to fulfill their responsibilities and stand in solidarity with their colleague.
