The worsening acute malnutrition crisis now threatens the lives of thousands of starving people in Gaza

Wound dressing service in emergency departments has been suspended due to severe shortage of medical supplies and consumables

We are sounding the alarm about the complete collapse of the health system.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Specialized Field Hospital in Gaza, Dr. Suhaib Al-Hams, issued stern warnings regarding the catastrophic health conditions in the Gaza Strip. These conditions are a result of the severe shortage of essential medicines, medical supplies, and food, amid the continued closure of the crossings for more than two consecutive months.

Dr. Al-Hamas said in press statements: “We are sounding the alarm over the severe shortage of most essential medicines and foods for patients, as well as many vital medical supplies, which portends an imminent health disaster.”

He explained that more than 75% of essential medicines are unavailable, including life-saving medications, posing a direct threat to the lives of the vast majority of patients in the Gaza Strip.

He pointed out that the ability to continue providing medical services is at stake, as the current stock of medicines and medical supplies is only sufficient for one week.

He added, “We warn that most medical services will cease if this situation persists without urgent and immediate intervention,” calling on the international community and humanitarian organizations to assume their moral and humanitarian responsibilities.

Dr. Al-Hamas concluded his statement by directing an urgent appeal to all concerned parties to take immediate action to bring medical and humanitarian aid into the Strip, and to urgently open the crossings to evacuate patients who are slowly dying every day without treatment.
