Previous Location of Kuwait Specialized Hospital - Rafah
Before
- Established in 2007, Kuwait Specialized Hospital is one of the most prominent healthcare institutions in the Rafah Governorate, south of the Gaza Strip. It has played a pivotal role in providing medical care to patients over the years, making it a trusted healthcare center serving the local community in the southern Gaza Strip.
- Since the beginning of the war in 2023, the hospital has dedicated its medical services to treating the wounded and injured, providing round-the-clock care to patients. Medical staff have demonstrated great dedication and dedicated efforts in handling emergency cases, despite the severity of the aggression, the brutality of the bombing, the ongoing war of extermination, and the collapse of the health system.
- As tens of thousands of citizens from various parts of the Gaza Strip have been displaced to Rafah as a result of the aggression, the hospital has established a field hospital attached to the Kuwait Specialized Hospital to expand medical services and meet growing humanitarian needs amidst unprecedented and difficult health and humanitarian conditions.
After
- In May 2024, during the massive ground invasion of Rafah Governorate and the displacement of its residents to the Al-Mawasi area, the hospital’s main headquarters was completely destroyed by systematic bombing and sabotage, rendering it out of service and depriving thousands of patients of basic healthcare.
- Despite this destruction, the hospital did not stop serving our people, as it established a field hospital on an area of 6 dunams in the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis Governorate, to serve hundreds of thousands of displaced people, in a clear message expressing the insistence on continuing to give and stand by our people in the darkest of circumstances.
